Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

An editor of UFOs, crime and horror tabloid magazines told that in the Minas Gerais, Brazil, on February 14, 1965, in the evening, on a beach near Guarani, five local residents saw a large object land. Three went to look for other witnesses and while they were gone, the remaining two approached to within 60 feet, hid behind a sand dune, and saw three beings that had left the object. They were tall and thin, nearly 8 feet in height and wearing dark, tight fitting one-piece suits. Before the others came back, the object took off, leaving traces, including footprints, at the landing site.

Without any further checking, the case was later called a "case of UFO physical traces."

Ted Philipps lists as case 818 of "UFO physical trace" that on February 14, 1965 in Brazil, in Guarani, footprints and circles were found. "Five residents see an unusually large object land, three occupants 8 foot tall, thin, wearing tight-fitting dark one-piece suits."

Ted Philipps indicates that the source is Timothy Green Beckley, in "Have Invaders From Space Divided the Earth ?" in Saga UFO Special No 3, page 23.

Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that in Guarani, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on February 14, 1965, in the evening, on a beach near Guarani, five local residents saw a large object land. The website indicates that on February 14, 1965, in the evening, on the beach of Guarani, Brazil, 5 local people saw a large object land. Two approached under 60', hid behind sand dune, saw three 8' tall beings, tall and thin, wearing dark tight one-piece suits. There were traces and footprints at landing site.

Points to consider:

Timothy Beckley Green was the editor of numerous pulp magazines ranging to crime stories to UFO lore and even pornographic tabloids, a "hollow earth" believer and the probable author behind the so-called "Commander X" bogus UFO books. He used to invent a lot of stories that had no base, just for entertainment of the gullible readers.

Below: Timothy Green Beckley started a UFO newsletter called "Interplanetary News Service Report" at 14, and was the prolific editor of numerous crime, horror, sex and violence trash magazines and tabloids in the 1970's, who also edited "UFO Magazine", "UFO Review" and others in which all sorts of often totally made up stories were published. He was also a contributing writer to such magazines and tabloids such as Beyond, Fate, Saga's UFO Report, Front Page Disasters, Violent World, Adult Cinema Review, Hustler, Sluts and Slobs, Beaver, The National Tattler, Globe, Unsolved UFO Sightings, Conspiracies and Coverups, UFO Universe.

Many people still believe the Ted Philipps catalogue of so-called "UFO traces" is the result of the latter's investigations; but it is not so, it is merely an unverified compilation of both good cases and totally bogus stories.

This particular "Guarani" case is apparently unheard of in South-American ufology.
