In an article enumerating observations of flying saucers, this newspaper published:

Saucer in the country of the Fakirs

Calcutta, November 2. -- For the first time in India, "flying saucers" were reported today in the area of Calcutta, at a few days of interval. Newspapers of Calcutta were advised of the presence above the suburbs of the town of a "brightly illuminated circular object" flying from East to West. A witness claimed to have seen human forms on board the apparatus before it disappeared.

Points to consider:

With the sparse information, there is nothing to exclude that the saucer was anything such as a meteor or an helicopter.
