Summer 1939, Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex, U-K., a man:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

According to the British "skeptical" ufologsit Peter Rogerson, c ase comes from a source he gave as "Wales 1992 p14".

It says that in the Summer of 1930 in Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex, England, a man woke up in his top floor flat to see, less than 60 cm away, a huge man dressed a shining gold suit, like an armour. His face was covered with a visor, except for his long and large nose. On his neck was a chain with an elaborate design from which hung a large black cross, in the centre of which was an agate. After a few minutes the figure vanished.

Wales 1992 p14

Points to consider:

I was unable to find what "Wales 1992 p14", the source given in [pr1], is. I expetced it whould be a book published in 1992 by an athir named Wales, but I did not find it.

And I did not find any other source mentioning this report.

Impossible to get a good idea, then, and all sorts of assumptions can be made: hypnagogic hallucination, pure invention, ghost story, extraterrestrial visitor...

Update on September 8, 2018:

A reader of this page managed to identifiy the source "Wales 1992 p14" given by Peter Rogerson [pr1] as probably: Tony Wales, Sussex Ghosts and Legends, Countryside Books, 1992. I thus added it to the Sources References.
