Spring 1930, Tupiza, Potosi, Bolivia, a man:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

The ufology web magazine Gaceta Ovni for March 2001 reported a case that allegedly took place in the spring of 1930 near Tupiza in the area of Villazon in Bolivia.

A young woman, Dina Angulo, told investigating ufologist during a ufology conference of an experience lived by her grandfather who was 34 at the time of this experience. He lived in the mountains near the community of Tupiza. Accompanied by his trusty dog, he went for food in the evening but, because of the recent thaw, the rivers had become much wider than usually, adding an element of risk to the task. He decided to abandon hunting until the next day and looked for the best place to camp for the night. It was cold and the few nearby animals, donkeys and goats, were huddling close to each other's makeshift shelter.

Suddenly, a powerful and blinding light illuminated the entire landscape. The animals panicked and fled in all directions as the dog ran toward his master who had no idea what was happening, but did not intend to stay there to find out.

He ran to a bunch of low trees and hid there, frightened, his dog next to him all the time. The light seemed to come from a place 10 or 20 meters above the ground, but it was so strong that the man could not distinguish any source or craft.

After a while, the light faded, which allowed him to see what was happening right in front of him: about 20 meters from his hideout, four humanoid beings were moving on the grass. Their movements were lively and they seemed to bounce or float as they moved. It was not possible to see their faces because of the light but they looked like "little men".

Then, just as suddenly as the light had come, it disappeared. The beings had gone too, and all that was left was the coldness of the night, the frightened animals and a terrified young man.

Dina Angulo said that her grandfather's encounter left a profound impact on his behavior from then on. He was found two days later, almost at the same place, still in shock and after a while, he was able to remember the most important details of the event.

The man suddenly became interested in a series of topics that he had not given too much attention to before. He devoted his free time to the study of herbal remedies and claimed to have acquired a certain "intuition" which he had never dreamed of. When he died in 1998, at the age of 102, he had earned the respect of the people of Tupiza, among whom his story was known and often told. It is said he died about 1998 at the age of 102

UFOs IN JUJUY (PART 3)

We did not expect much impact from the population, as we were told that locals would not likely participate in public events. That's why the surprise was great when the hotel lounge was filled by more than a hundred people.

As we showed images of lights and commented on their features and possible explanations, interest has been growing, and before starting the conference, a large group of full-time students was in the living room, with almost half of them standing, listening silently and attentively to what we said.

After the faint light of the video, and during the speeches, people nod a clear gesture to recognize the purpose of a study, a familiarity that now raised our interest in hearinf their own experiences.

After the presentation of the materials present, a long discussion started, not without showing shyness, but ultimately reaching a mood of mutual trust that helped then to report their experiences to us.

One of the most interesting may have been that of young Dina Angulo about her grandfather's experience in 1930 in Bolivia, not far from Villazon.

It was spring of this distant year. His grandfather, about 30 years old, lived in an isolated position between the mountains, near the community of Tupiza. He had walked the trails to find their animals and some slaughter, but since it was time for snowmelt in the mountains the rivers grew disproportionately and he had to spend the night outdoors. In his youth, he was a wandering man and spent the night with the security of [baquiana?].

But little was his experience for what he would finally live that day. Accompanied by his faithful dog, he looked for a place to rest and leave the next morning for a safer course. The night was cold and the few animals like donkeys and goats gathered near their refuge.

Suddenly, a powerful light illuminated the entire landscape. It was so strong that its remended him of a sunny day; almost nothing could be distinguished. Immediately, his dog, visibly agitated, stood beside him. Without knowing what to do, the man sought every corner in search of a hiding place. He ran to low trees and hid there in fear.

The source of this powerful luminescence came, maybe about 10 or 20 meters, but it was impossible to distinguish its origin or the shape of the object projecting it.

Durng a time that cannot be estimated, the man remained there, seeing how the light embraced all that existed while the donkeys and other animals fled in all directions.

At one time, the light decreased in intensity, allowing him to see more clearly what was happening before him.

Within 20 meters of his fragile hiding place, four humanoid characters moved vertically across the field. Their movements were agile, hyperkinetic and they made long jumps, very high above the ground. The figures could hardly be distinguished, but they looked like little men, confuse because of the clarity of the environment.

During all of the event, Dina's grandfather dis not remember any particular sounds. He was overwhelmed by fear and offered no other details than those described. What he kept fresh in her memory is that suddenly the intense light was gone, the beings disappearing with it. Dina specified that her grandfather was deeply moved, two days later they found him in a state of strong agitation almost at the same place, and only over time he could retrieve from his memory the most important details of the experience.

The truth is that it changed the life of the man, says the woman, his grandfather ended up being devoted to the healing arts with plants and a growing intuition or clairvoyance experience since that night. Dina's grandfather died in the 98s, at the age of 102, and among the people of Tupiza who knew him, the experience was told many times. Apparently this whole region is frequented by luminous phenomena.

1930, Spring

BOLIVIA, near Tupiza

[In English in the text] An interesting case from Bolivia was reported in "Gaceta OVNI," one of the highest-quality journals dealing with UFO phenomena published in Spain and Argentina. A young woman, Dina Angulo, told researchers about an experience that her grandfather had had in the Spring of 1930.

This man, who was thirty four years old at the time, lived in the mountains near the community of Tupiza. Accompanied by his trusty dog, he had been out searching for food in the evening but due to the recent thaw the rivers had grown much wider than usual, adding an element of risk to the task. He decided to give up the hunt until the next day and to look for the best place to camp down for the night. It was cold and the few animals that were near, donkeys and goats, huddled close to each other near his makeshift shelter.

Suddenly a powerful, blinding light lit up the whole landscape. The animals panicked and fled in all directions while the dog ran to his master's side. The man, meanwhile, had no idea what was going on but did not plan to hang around in the open and find out. He ran to a clump of low trees and hid there in fear, his dog beside him all the time. The light seemed to come from a point some ten or twenty meters above the ground but it was so bright that the man could not make out any source or aircraft overhead. After a while the light grew dimmer, allowing him to see what was happening just ahead. About twenty metres from his hiding place four humanoid figures were moving over the grass. Their movements were sprightly and they appeared to bounce or float as they travelled. It wasn't possible to see their faces because of the light but they looked like "little men." Then, just as suddenly as the light had come, it vanished. The beings were gone, too, and all that was left was the coldness of the night, the frightened animals and one terrified young man. Dina Angulo told that her grandfather's encounter was to have a profound effect on his behaviour from then on. In fact, he was found two days afterwards at almost the same spot, still in a state of shock and only after some time could he recall the most prominent details of the event.

The man suddenly became interested in a range of things that he hadn't paid too much attention to before. Albert Rosales indicates in his catalogue that near Villazon, Bolivia, in the Spring of 1930 at night, "A local shepherd was out collecting his animals on a cold night when suddenly a bright light illuminated the area around him. His dog, apparently frightened ran to his side. The shepherd then hid behind some trees and watched as a brilliant object descended over the area. He watched as the different animals, sheep, donkeys, etc., ran in terror in different directions. The light began to dim and 20 meters away from his position he was able to see four human like figures that were moving over the fields at vertiginous speed. The figures made huge leaps that seemed to make them float in mid-air. The figures were human-like but smaller than a normal human. No other features could be distinguished. Suddenly the light vanished along with the figures. After the incidents the witness developed apparent psychic powers and was able to predict future events, he also became a very well-known local healer."

Albert Rosales indicates that the source is "Gaceta Ovni".

[Ref. js1:] JEAN SIDER:

The author indicates that in the spring of 1930, at night, near Tupiza, Bolivia, there was a close encounter of the third or fourth kind.

He indicates that a 35-year-old shepherd, accompanied by his faithful dog, was out with his animals. He did not return to his sheepfold because he hoped to hunt to bring back food, but because of the thaw, the flow of the rivers grew bigger than usual, and in these conditions finding game presented a risk. Carefully, he postponed his quest for prey to the next day and began to settle on the spot for the night. It was cold and the few animals that were with him, donkeys and goats, huddled together near his makeshift shelter. Suddenly, a powerful blinding light illuminated the landscape. The animals were panicked and fled in all directions while the dog ran for his master.

The shepherd had no idea what was going on and did not even think about going back to his flock. He rushed to a bunch of small trees and hid there, scared, his dog hugging him constantly.

The light seemed to come from a spot 10 or 20 meters above the ground, but it was so bright that the witness could not distinguish the craft that produced it. Moments later, the light faded a little; which allowed him to see at about 20 meters four humanoid creatures moving above the grass.

Their movements were fast and they seemed to leap or float during their progression. The features of their faces were not distinguished because of the dazzling light, but they were "little men". Then, as suddenly as it appeared, the light went out, and the creatures disappeared.

Shortly after this experience, the witness began to take an interest in a lot of things he had not paid attention to until then. He spent all his free time to study herbal remedies and told anyone who wanted to listen that he had a gift of intuition he never had before.

Jean Sider indicates that the source is "Rosales, according to Gaceta Ovni, March 2001, article 'UFOs in Jujuy', part Ill)."

He comments that it is a "possible scenario having masked a classic CE4," because of the change in behavior of the witness. He points out the attitude of the animals, who, even if they did not see the phenomenon, were very disturbed by its presence.
