AUGUST 1929, KRINI, CHALKIDIKI, GREECE, TEOCHARIS MOUSTAKAS:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

Greek ufology investigators Constantine Trantafyllou and Homer Carajas reported that in the village of Krini, Chalkidiki, Northern Greece, on Sunday of August 1929, about midnight, Theocharis Moustakas, then aged 19, was carrying flour with his cart, returning home after the grinding of wheat at the Krini mill.

Suddenly, he saw an object like a parachute land on a nearby field and three little people speaking a very odd language between them.

They were dressed with white clothes with white hoods and their skin was also white.

Near them there was a fence, and the small men repeatedly jumped over it, very easily.

Terrified, Mr. Moustakas run to the village, and told of his 20 minutes encounter. Some of the villagers told him he saw "devils", others told him he was crazy.

[Ref. tv1:] THANASSIS VEMBOS:

Greek paranormal researcher, spaceflight journalist and science fiction author Thanassis Vembos noted:

Site: Krini village, Chalkidiki, Northern Greece.

Date: Sunday, August 1929,

Time: about midnight

Witness: Mr. Theocharis Moustakas (born 1910).

Duration: 20 minutes.

The witness was carrying flour with his cart, returning home after the grinding of wheat at Krini mill. Suddenly he saw an object like a "parachute" (semi-spherical) landed on a nearby field and three "little people" speaking a very curious language between them. They were dressed with white clothes with white hoods and their skin was also white. Near them there was a fence and the small men repeatedly jumped over it very easily. The witness was terrified and went to the village running. He recited his experience. Some of his co-villagers told him he "saw devils" and others that he was crazy.

Sources: investigators Constantine Trantafyllou, Homer Carajas, based in Thessaloniki.

Points to consider:

Chaldiki prefecture.

Krini village.

This is a highly interesting story as it occurred long before the modern flying saucer era in a country where extraterrestrial visitors were not a usual topic in the villages and where the folks who heard the witness experience are obviously thinking of anything but a flying saucer and its occupants.

Unfortunately, a crucial point here is the date when it was actually reported publicly. It is not possible with the available information to know whether anyone confirmed that it was reported at the time, or whether it was reported only decades later. Apparently, the case was investigated by ufologists somehow; the investigation report would be an essential part of this file to answer the unresolved questions.
