FEBRUARY OR MARCH 1914, LAJOUMARD, HAUTE-VIENNE, FRANCE, A FARMER:

Brief summary of the event and follow-up:

It seems that the French ufologists Joel Mesnard and Jean Marie Bigorne recorded a CE3 case that occurred in Lajoumard, Haute Vienne, France, in February of March 1914, at nightfall.

An anonymous farmer, now deceased, was returning to his farmhouse at twilight when he saw atop a nearby hill called ""Les Pierrières", a round luminous object, green in color, hovering just above the ground or posed on the ground.

When he was about 100 to 200 meters away, he saw several beings of very small stature emerge from the machine, stroll about briefly, then disappear once again inside.

The object then took off in a spiral or zigzag trajectory, and then streaked off at very high speed.

The farmer, frightened by the incident, spoke about it to his family, asking that they never speak about it to anyone else, and it was only after his death that the incident was revealed by his daughter, one Mrs Champagne, apparently. Her brother also remembered the story.

Narratives:

[Ref. jc1:] JEROME CLARK:

Jerome Clark says that in March 1914 at twilight, in Lajoumard, France, a farmer returning home saw a round, green, luminous object hovering just above a hilltop. Several small beings emerged, walked around the machine, and went back inside, at which point the object shot off. He told only his family of the strange experience, and ufologists learned about it many years later when the witness was dead.

[Ref. ar1:] ALBERT ROSALES:

Albert Rosales indicates that in Lajoumard, Haute Vienne, France, in March 1914, in the evening, "A farmer, now deceased, was returning to his farmhouse at twilight when he chanced to see atop a nearby hill a round luminous object, green in color, hovering just above the ground. When he was about 100 to 200 meters away he saw several beings of small stature emerge from the machine, stroll about briefly, then disappear once again inside. The object then took off in a spiral, or zigzag, trajectory, and then streaked off at very high speed. He spoke to his family of the incident and asked that they never speak of it to anyone else. It was only after his death that the incident was revealed."

[Ref. js1:] JEAN SIDER:

The author says that the 1st quarter of 1914 in Lajoumard, Haute Vienne, France, Mrs. Champagne, daughter of the mains witness, collected in 1978 his report, the latter being deceased when she told the experience of her father. The brother of this lady also remembered the event which had occurred in February or March.

The witness is a farmer whose identity remained confidential, who returned home at nightfall, when he saw on the top of a small hill called "Pierrières" a greenish luminous object, of round shape and posed on the ground.

When he was no more than one or two hundred meters away, he distinguished several figures of very small size who came out of it, went around it, then disappeared inside at once.

The object lifted initially in spiral or zigzags, then went away at high speed to be soon lost from sight. The witness was reportedly in anguish in front of this strange display.

Jean Sider indicates that the source is LDLN n° 313, 1992, pp. 23-25.

This database recors a CE3 case on 03-1914 in Lajoumard, France, with one only information that the source is "DUFOA-Deutschland - SiDat - 1996-2002".

Points to consider:

Here is an interesting case, of high strangeness, unexplainable by human aviation of that time.

A formal record of all the statements would have been appreciated.
