ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Case of Vieux-Ferrette, on April 10, 2019:

Case number:

ALSACAT-2019-04-10-VIEUXFERRETTE-1

Summary:

Under the pseudonym "strut", someone reported to the UFO site "OVNI France.fr" his sighting without other witnesses titled "Luminous dot which leaves a center", on April 10, 2019 at 10 p.m. in Vieux-Ferrette in the Haut-Rhin:

Having walked my dog as usual around 10 o'clock in the evening and i looked up to the sky while waiting for my dog to do his busines to look a little at the stars or planets and constallation so I couldn't see a lot in fact a few unimportant luminous dots and i had no idea in my head to see something unusual at this moment just to eaze my neurons a little and thats when i see towards the south -east a luminous dot which lights up i thought of a shootting star so I said to myself its gonna extinguish rather quickly and well no it and remained on so I said to myself ok that's a satellite, no doubt the problem is that there was another luminous dot which lit next to a gap of 2 cm depending on my vision and after another and in fact 5 dots which formed a line and after that thes 5 dot just disappeared at the center of the first dot and then the same happend with an angle of 20 degrees from the center which have formed a circle and then this its moved above the forest where I live to the south, always applying this circle or ellipse with lights that goes out from the center to the outside I understood nothing to the show i was quite disoriented by what i had witnessd i even rubbed my eyes believing that it was fatigue that had made me see what i had seen it was quite impressive now I can conclude absolutely nothing i only note what i saw and i think that if it was an object it must have been quite high in altitude and probably very big well if someone has already had this kind of case it would be good to know

On the Web report form, the witness indicated an approximate duration of observation of 2 minutes.

Discussion:

Map.

It is difficult for me to give a solid explanation. It could have been a group of Internet access satellites; or maybe, Swiss military flares or planes or helicopters maneuvering in the distance.

Evaluation:

Possible planes or satellites.
