ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Possible UFO photo at Mittlach in the Haut-Rhin in France on June 29, 2017

Photo: I circled in red the possible UFO. In Mittlach, the 29th of June 2017...

Thanks to this gentleman who sent me by email last night June 30, 2017, the following message with his attached photo:

"Good evening sir,

I just saw your email just after validating my message in your blog, so I summarize yesterday at 02:00 p.m. in Mittlach (Alsace) I took a picture with my cell phone from the village of Mittlach and after watching it I just noticed that we see a black dot on this one. I join this picture to you (the quality is not fantastic if you enlarge it) You tell me what you think?

Thank you for your reply

Cordially".

I enlarged this part of the photo where we see this possible UFO:

Discussion:

Map.

One more "BLURFO", i.e. a "blurred UFO" on a photograph; which was not seen with the naked eye. Some French ufologists call this a "surprise photo", as the "witness" is surprised to discover a UFO on a picture he/she took whereas he/she did not see any UFO when taking the picture.

Need I say it again? These are birds, insects and the like. There is no reason at all to suggest this would be a "UFO".

Evaluation:

Probable insect.
