ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. Summary:

The blog "Activité Paranormale" reported on December 23, 2016, about a video of a "UFO group filmed in Strasbourg, France" published on Youtube - it was removed since.

It was said that a witness whose identity was not revealed had filmed for a few minutes a group of unidentified lights over the city.

The blog commented that the images, published by "The White Ghost" on YouTube on December 17, 2016, show about seven luminous spheres hovering in the sky in broad daylight, and that it makes them think that they could have been Chinese lanterns "traditionally launched at various occasions - is this really the case?"

A witness, whose identity was not revealed, filmed, for several minutes, a group of unidentified lights over the city of Strasbourg, in eastern France.

The images we are currently interested in were published by "Le Fantôme blanc" ["The White Ghost"] on YouTube in December 17, 2016. They show us about 7 luminous spheres hovering in the sky in broad daylight.

The characteristics of these UFOs make us think that it could be Chinese lanterns traditionally launched on various occasions. Is this really the case?

Discussion:

The video on Youtube has been removed; this is often the case when people post a video of what they believe to be one or more UFOs and later learn that it is not so.
