ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

08/24/2016 - (Dep.67) - white dot moving slowly in the sky

Date: 08/24/2016

Department: 67 (Bas-Rhin)

Localization: WOLFISHEIM

Hour: 05:15 p.m.

Numbers [sic] of witnesses: 1 persons [sic]

Type of observation: NL: Nocturnal Lights

Approximate duration of the observation: 1 minutes [sic]

What was seen: white dot moving slowly in the sky

Description of the facts:

being in front of my window i observe a plane in the sky that passes next to a white dot that also moves but slowly which intrigues me i get my phone to film.

1st view the white dot is on the video

2nd view no more white dit????

It is impossible for me to tell what was seen; but a white dot in the sky flying slower than a plane can be many ordinary things: bird, balloon, Chinese lantern, helicopter...

It seems that the only strangeness here is that the witness does not see the white dot anymore on his video the second time that he looks at it; but for lack of checking one may suggest for example that he took several clips and did not look at the same one the second time.

Let's not that the sighting cannot be of the "Nocturnal Light" type, as this is said to happen at a daytime hour.

Unidentified, no strangeness, totally insufficient information.
