ALSACAT:

As its name suggests, ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

A UFO in Colmar...

"A curtain of blinding light. A white light that illuminated everything... It lasted a good ten seconds, then nothing; everything was back to normal." This UFO story was told to us by a young Colmarian, Roland Kalck. He saw this light, for which he can find no natural explanation, Wednesday between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., while he was with a female friend in his car, on the edge of avenue de Lorraine in Colmar. Not having paid particular attention to the phenomenon at first, Roland was however surprised to hear that he was not the only one in this case, which prompted him to try to find out more. So if such an adventure had happened to you, could you contact the editorial staff of "L'Alsace".

Around 10 p.m. several witnesses from different places observed a bright, very luminous blue glow which seemed to fall from the sky, and was heading towards Colmar.
