ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

- On November 5 [1973] around 6:40 p.m., in the region of Masevaux (Haut-Rhin) several people witnessed the moves of two U.F.O. shortly after 10 p.m. Shortly after 10 p.m., a red luminous object accompanied by a smaller object is observed for 5 minutes in the sky of Ruelisheim. The two craft then head towards the Hasenram [sic, Hasenrain, Mulhouse hospital.].

In the article on an Alsatian alleged sighting, that of Merxheim, the author shows a series of other "known UFO sightings around" that location, including:

Discussion:

My extensive 2014 search on the web and in my UFO documentation revealed no other sign of this observation mentioned by Raoul Robé.

I spent my childhood and adolescence in Riedisheim, I was 10 years old that year. I have no recollection of such an observation; while I remember the so-called "UFO trace" in Riedisheim in 1971. It is quite possible that I was unaware of it then, of course. On the other hand, it is possible that the date given by Raoul Robé is in error and that the case is the one of 1971.

Update on February 24, 2023:

I added the source [cgu1]. The author and ufologist Charles Garreau mentioned a sighting in Ruelisheim; it is possible that the source [rre1] misread Ruelisheim, becoming Riedisheim.

On the other hand, Garreau talks about two craft that headed for the "Hasenram". Here, it is he or the printer who are mistaken, it is obviously the Hasenrain, Mulhouse's main hospital at that time.

The Hasenrain is almost on the edge of Riedisheim. It is therefore possible that again, it is Gareau who is wrong and that [rre1] is not wrong.
