Summary:

In the "Catalog Drôme - Ardèche", compiled in U.F.O. Informations, ufological bulletin of the Association des Amis de Marc Thirouin (AAMT), 4th quarter 1981, a case dated February 1954 or 1955, in Buis-les-Baronnies, Drôme, is noted.

According to an investigation by the SLUB of Buis-les-Baronnies, at about 9:45 p.m., on a clear weather and nice temperature, Mr. Fernand Benoit, a single 67-year-old retired farmer, observed for a few minutes, in a street, stationed about 1 meter above the roofs, a weird object that looked like a large, round pan without handle, covered with a kind of transparent cup.

The lower part of the object was dirty gray. The cup above was luminous, like illuminated by an intermittent light, a little yellow. To the right of the object, an orange flashing light came on and "a kind of festoon in the middle of the cup, as well as a double wall", were visible. On the left, there was a blackened part, like scorched.

Then the object rose noiselessly, without smoke, and left grazing the cars towards the slaughterhouse.

Above:
Buis-les-Baronnies.

I find it difficult to me to understand the shape of what is described here; anyway, I do not see any prosaic identification.
