Beginning of November 1954, Palavas-les-Flots, Hérault:

Reference number for this case: Beg-Nov-54-Palavas-les-Flots. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

Summary:

The ufologist and author Jean Sider annouced in his 1997 book "Le Dossier 1954 et l'Imposture Rationaliste" that he found a case from the beginning of November 1954 in Palavas-les-Flots in the Hérault, on page 2 of the supplement of the newspaper Midi Libre of Montpellier of November 7th, 1954:

"A few days ago, a very honorable and worthy of faith resident of Palavas going to his work saw at 06:00, a blue disc, but it is especially the blue color, at such an early hour of the morning and in a rather intense fog which intrigued him. He approached slowly holding his bicycle with the hand. At a few meters of this light it he had the clear impression that somebody had just passed in front of him, then, in one second the gleam disappeared. At the same time he saw an object in the shape of a cigar, which went up vertically at a tremendous speed. He was very astonished and even a little distressed. He came back in the morning to see whether there were traces, but there was absolutely nothing. We repeat that this sympathetic Palavasian is worthy of faith, that he is very balanced and enjoys the general esteem."

A few meters from the light, he had the distinct impression that someone had just passed in front of him, then for a second, the glow disappeared.
