October 6, 1954, Le Mans, Sarthe:

Reference for this case: 6-Oct-54-Le Mans.
Please cite this reference in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

At the end of the 1950s, a French archivist, Guy Quincy, interested in the question of the "mysterious celestial objects", compiled a catalog of observations, in which he noted, without giving either a source or details, an observation of a "cloud cigar" on October 6, 1954, at 05:45 p.m. in Le Mans in the Sarthe department.

Totally insufficient information.

I found no other reference to such a sighting at that date and hour in or near Le Mans.

"Cloud cigar" was an expression coined by the pionneering ufologist Aimé Michel in the 1950's; he thought that there were sightings of a similar nature, of a big vertical or horiontal cigar-shaped craft surrounded by fog, supposed to be some kind of mothership.
