The local newspaper Le Courrier Cauchois of Yvetot, for November 6-7, 1954, reported that without apparent emotion, a "trustworthy" resident of Ancretiéville-Saint-Victor formally declared to have seen a flying saucer heading east at a brisk pace on the night from Novmber 6 to 8 [!], 1954.

The "saucer" was flying at a medium altitude, was very visible, and "spit fire in front and behind"; it "disappeared" quickly.

It is without apparent emotion that an Ancretieville St Victor resident, worthy of faith, formally stated to have seen a flying saucer moving towards the East at a sharp pace in the night of the 6th to the 8th [!] last November.

This saucer which flew at an average altitude was very visible and spit fire in the front and the back. The saucer disappeared quickly.

It is the first appearance noted in the area.

Probable meteor.
