The newspaper La Liberté du Morbihan for October 6, 1954, reported that on the morning of October 5, 1954, a representative of the Renault automobile brand, who was coming from Saint-Brieuc and returning to his home in Pontivy, had seen a "flying saucer" following the railway line.
"The craft" emitted such a bright light that, even after the motorist turned off his car's headlights, the road remained perfectly illuminated.
The newspaper states that "the craft moved about for approximately thirty seconds, then quickly disappeared."

It would be tempting to think, despite the lack of information, that it could have been a meteor. But for now, I have no other reports in Brittany for the morning of October 5, 1954 that would indicate a meteor.
I am therefore leaving the case as "unidentified."
