In his 1978 book, the Brittany ufologist Jean-François Boedec noted without specifying his source that on October 5, 1954, around 4 a.m., a truck driver had observed for ten minutes the maneuvers of two flying saucers above Fouesnant.
He indicated that the luminous objects had the shape of mushrooms and were extended by a kind of brightly lit tail. One of the discs remained motionless while the other moved nearby. Moments later, the two objects moved away towards the sea after launching a luminous line which resembled a rocket.

The author notes that on October 5, 1954, around 4 hours of the morning, a schedule which curiously coincides with that of the appearance of Loctudy, a truck-driver had observed during ten minutes the evolutions of two flying saucers above Fouesnant.
The luminous objects had the shape of mushroom and were prolonged of a kind of highly illuminated tail. One of the discs remained motionless while the other evolved in the vicinity. A few moments later, the two objects moved away towards the sea after having launched a luminous line which resembled a rocket.
