In the late 1950s, a French archivist, Guy Quincy, compiled a catalog of sightings of unidentified flying objects. He noted there, without further details or source, that on September 28, 1954, at an unknown time, there had been an observation in Montepllier in the Hérault department.

Loren Gross reproduces in the middle of summaries of cases from mid to late September 1954, a barely legible press clipping, entitled "They all saw flying saucers", without giving the references, on which we see:

Mr. Hugonnenq, of Montpellier, points at the crest that a mysterious craft overflew

"Hugonnenq", the non-existing name given here, is more likely "Hugonenq", an existing name.
