The journalist and pioneer of ufology Charles Garreau reported that in the Jura, in Dole, on January 26, 1954, at 04:50 in the morning, a couple had observed an intense glow before the passage of - or at the front of - a luminous arrow.
Charles Garreau did not realize it was the meteor seen in the area at that time.

Luc Chastan indicates that in the Jura in Dôle on January 26, 1954 at 04:50, "A couple observes an intense gleam preceding the passage of a luminous arrow."
