In a general catalog of observations of the Gironde written by the Bordeaux section of the CFRU, published in the ufology magazine Ouranos in the fourth quarter of 1973, it is said that according to the newspaper Sud-Ouest of September 27, 1954, the following observation took place:

Before the 27th of September 1954, at 07:30 p.m. in Mérignac, a 7-year-old girl in her parents' garden saw a ball seeming to be oval-shaped, very big, lower than a plane, silent and very fast, leaving yellow traces. The girl was very scared.

Before Sept. 27, 54 07:30 p.m. Merignac BA V2 Axis

Witness: a 7-year-old girl in her parents' garden. Ball seemingly oval, very large, lower than a plane, silent and very fast, leaving yellow traces (trail?). Witness very scared. (cf. Beutre 9/25/54).

S.O. September 27, 54

BEFORE SEPTEMBER 17, 1954 7:30 p.m. Mérignac BA/V 2

Witness: a 7-year-old girl in her parents' garden. Ball seeming oval, very big, lower than an airplane, silent and very fast leaving yellow traces (trails?).

(S.O. September 27, 1954)

Note: "BA" stands for "Low Altitude"; "V 2" stands for "bad observations", a report for which it is difficult to rule out a misinterpretation.

The two authors indicate that in Beutre in the Gironde, on September 25, 1954, at 07:30 p.m., a luminous ball crossed the sky.
