Circa 2015, the ufology group Comité Nord-Est des Groupements Ufologiques (CNEGU) published an updated catalogue of humanoid encounters in the North-East of France, in which they noted a case at the uncertain date of October 23, 1954.
They said that near Boulay in the Moselle department, several people in the evening saw strange lights, some of which seemed to move. A curious onlooker approached to within 100 meters of the landing site and realized that the flying saucer "and the shadows" were only a team of electrical installers working by the light of their lamps to repair the network.
CNEGU explained that this was a misidentification involving people with professional outfit, and that the source is the newspaper Le Républicain Lorrain for October 24, 1954, communicated by Mr. A. Chevrier to ufologist Michel Figuet.
