The newspaper L'Ardennais of October 20, 1954, reported having heard the day before the testimonies of two young men from Floing regarding the luminous disc od Saturday - OCtober 16, 1954. The youths had seen it from the corner of the Botanical Garden, on Avenue Philippoteaux, at the entrance to Rue des Fausses Braies.
One said it was a red disc that quickly crossed the sky, with yellow around it, producing "sparks and what looked like soap bubbles at the rear." The other, alerted by his friend, only had time to see a luminous trail.
The newspaper asked the first witness if it could have been a meteor, but he rejected that idea, without saying why. An airplane was also ruled out, the young man estimating that the thing was much faster than a plane.
One of the youths specified that it had taken place at 9:30 p.m., as he had looked at his watch.

A new testimony regarding the luminous disc seen on Saturday evening in the sky over Sedan reached us yesterday. Two young people from Floing witnessed the phenomenon while they were at the corner of the Botanical Garden, on Avenue Philippoteaux, at the entrance to Rue des Fausses Braies:
"I saw a red disc, which quickly crossed the sky, with yellow around it. It was sparking and looked like it had soap bubbles trailing behind," one of the young people told us verbatim. "My friend shouted to me: look!" I barely had time to see a luminous trail," added his companion.
- "Did you think it could have been a meteor?" we asked the boy who first saw the luminous disc.
"Oh no, it wasn't that!" he replied. "Don't you think it could have been a jet plane?"
"No, and it was moving much faster."
"What time was it? 9:30 p.m., I checked my watch."
This testimony matches that of the officers and other witnesses. However, the sensational photo we published yesterday was taken around 10:30 PM.
We do not draw conclusions and simply add this account to the file on celestial appearances.
