October 14, 1954, Tence, Haute-Loire:

Reference for this case: 14-Oct-54-Tence.
Please cite this reference in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

The "skeptical" ufologists Gérard Barthel and Jacques Brucker wrote in their book "La Grande Peur Martienne" ("The Great Martian Scare") of 1979, that for the observation of October 14, 1954, in Tence, their investigation revealed that the witness was sick and made one to two observations every day.

Later in the same page, they write that for this date, besides the 19 cases caused by a meteor, "poor people claim to have seen flying saucers" and that their "investigation proved that they were sick."

The two authors note this case of October 14, 1954:

"Tence - 43 - investigation. Ill witness, made one to two observations every day."

Further in their book, they write that for that day, in addition to 19 cases of meteors, "poor people claimed to have seen flying saucers" and "our investigation has proven that they were sick."

Probably the 06:13 p.m. meteor that day, or psychological.
