Summary:

According to the ufology magazine Lumières Dans La Nuit for October 1973, the regional newspaper Centre-Matin for October 12, 1954, reported this observation, without date or time, in Bellenaves in the Allier:

"A brilliant round craft moved in the sky at high altitude. It left in its wake a trail of white and green color. It went out sometimes 2 to 3 seconds to reappear a little further, it disappeared towards the Northeast."

A round and bright craft moved at high altitude, leaving a white and green trail. It sometimes went out for 2 to 3 seconds to reappear further. It disappeared towards the NE.

Explanations:

The description is a meteor description. The lack of an assured date and an hour is of course an issue.

The short disappearances and reappearances a little further may be caused by scattered clouds below its apparent trajectory.
