Subjet: mysterious lights
Date: July 23, 2006

Hello I observed with a friend mysterious lights in the sky of Geneva on July 21, 2006 at approximately 11:00 p.m.. We initially believed to see stars but they seemed too near. We then said to ourselves they were fireworks but the luminous point or sparks or stars, I do not know how to call them, did not move. They formed a geometrical type of drawing as those which represent the astrological signs in the sky. These incandescent points persisted 15 or 20 minutes. Much too much long for fireworks. And I insist the points were static, they did not make any displacement. They died out one after the other. The sparks or small glare of lights, I do not know how to say, were all of orange color. People passing by there noticed the phenomenon and they described it more or less the same. I am in the search for explanations. Did other people observe these stars? Were they seen by an astronomical observation center?

Thanks for providing an answer

Subject: the mysterious stars

Hello !

I wrote to you a few days ago. I spoke to you about strange stars or glares of light of orangeish colors and ordered like a sky chart. A phenomenon that I observed in the sky of Geneva. I tried to reproduce what I saw with the computer. The drawing is quite approximate. It was much more complex and much larger. There was among others a large and a small triangle and plenty of other geometrical forms and roads joining together the main forms. The color is exact. The stars were of different sizes as in my drawing. There was to be at least around fifty of it or even more. They were at low altitude this is why we initially thought of a fireworks but we did not hear any noise of detonation and the lights absolutely did not move. The whole lasted some good fifteen minutes with a perfect immobility. The lights disappeared one after the other. The smallest initially and the largest last. I never saw fixed fireworks in the sky and burning such a long time... I in addition did not smell any burning smells.

I would so much like a logical explanation

Notes: a similar phenomenon was largely reported the following night in Geneva. The Swiss ufology group GREPI had carried out an investigation into similar events in 1988 and discovered that they were balloons equipped with pyrotechnic devices.
