U.F.O's: a "problem" for the Secretary of the Armies
PARIS. -- If there is a subject on the agenda, especially since
the publication of certain photograph taken during a flight of
the "Concorde" [was caused by a meteor], it is indeed that of
the U.F.O's (unidentified flying objects).
But it is really the first time that a Minister for the Armies
in official capacity, Mr. Robert Galley, actually, agrees to
speak about it publicly. Answering the questions of our
fellow-journalist Jean-Claude Bourret, on the "France-Inter"
radio station, he did not want to speak of "aerial phenomena".
"These visual phenomena - I do not say more than this -
show aspects that are unexplained or poorly explained,
he said. They present a problem... for the moment."
Mentioning testimonys collected between 1954 and 1970, by
a special section, called a think tank, of the ministry
of the Armies, Mr. Galley stated that it is necessary to adopt,
with regard to these phenomena, a completely open mind, "i.e.
that which does not consist in denying a priori."
