The article below was published in the daily newspaper La Razon, Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 22, 1963.

A MAN WHO HAD BECOME TEMPORARILY DERANGED, HAS NOW RATIFIED
THE STORY OF THE CHAUFFEUR FROM THE TOWN OF CORDOBA (ARGENTINA)
WHO WAS HUNT BY STRANGE BEINGS

CORDOBA - A man by the name of Mateo Macchio, from this zone, yesterday presented himself to the police authorities of Monte Maiz and gave a declaration to the effect that on the l8th of October 1963, at daybreak, ae he was driving he noticed that a street lamp changed to a bright red and also that ha saw a man kneeling on the road whose face was covered by something and he appeared to be raising a revolver in his right hand. As we previously informed, the same day and time mentioned above, a lorry driver who was coming along the road, and whose name was ugenio Douglas, presented himself at the above police station, saying he had been accosted by strange beings of great height, with bright helmets on their heads, who directed on to him torches or similar objects with a strong red light, which left him with strange burns on his eyesand different parts of his body. Douglas added that he thought the strange beings were driving a circular vehicle of rare appearance and great luminosity. Returning to Mecchio, when asked in the police station the reason for his delay in declaring what he had seen, he claimed that he had remained mentally numb and without sufficient will power to come forward, on account of the effects of the afore mentioned mysterious powerful light emitted by the street lighting.
