Two Luminous Objects Seen Last Night

Shortly after 7:30 PM, for almost two hours, two luminous objects were clearly visible, appearing to be suspended in the sky, in the area near Rodríguez Peña Square in this capital.

Both objects had an intense luminosity, similar to that of a full moon on a clear night. The first was seen by a journalist from this newspaper, along with many passersby, to the right of the Carmen Chapel (Rodríguez Peña 830), between its tower and Córdoba Avenue. It remained completely still for several minutes before making a smooth movement, descending slightly, and staying in this new position for almost an hour.

While the object was in this position, another similar one was seen approaching it from the east. Separated by a considerable distance, both remained still for a long time until the second object moved toward the first and stopped at a steady distance. It remained there for about twenty minutes before turning back and following the path by which it had arrived, eventually disappearing from view. Half an hour later, the first object began to move northward and gradually faded from sight.

Many people gathered in nearby areas, where the open space allowed for an easy view of both objects. As expected, this led to intense discussions and speculation about their possible origin.

Dos objetos luminosos se vieron anoche

Poco después de las 19.30, por casi dos horas, dos objetos luminosos mostràbanse claramente, como suspendidos en el cielo, en la zona vecina a la plaza Rodríguez Peña, de esta capital.

Ambos cuerpos poseían intensa luminosidad, como suele ostentar la Luna llena en las noches diàfanas. El primero fue visto por un cronista de este diario, junto con muchos viandantes, a la derecha de la capilla del Carmen (Rodríguez Peña 830), entre su torre y la avenida Córdoba, donde permaneció totalmente quieto por largos minutos, para luego hacer un suave desplazamiento, de arriba hacia abajo, y quedar en esta segunda ubicación casi una hora. Cuando el objeto se hallaba en esta posición, vióse otro similar que se acercaba hacia él desde el Este. Separados por una distancia apreciable, ambos quedaron quietos largo rato, hasta que el segundo se desplazó hacia el primero, para detenerse a regular distancia. Allí permaneció unos veinte minutos y luego tornó a tomar el rumbo por el que había aparecido, hasta que dejó de vérselo. Media hora después comenzó a moverse hacia el Norte el primer objeto, que, poco a poco, fue perdiéndose de vista.

Numerosas personas reuníronse en los lugares cercanos que, por su amplitud, permitían mirar sin esfuerzo a ambos cuerpos, y esto, como es natural, dio motivo para intensas disquisiciones sobre su posible origen.
