AN ITALIAN SCIENTIST CLAIMS:

"Martians (if they exist) can only be very different from us"

Rome, October 17. -- An Italian scientist, Professor Antonio Eula, holder of the chair of aerodynamics at the University of Rome, declared, regarding the possible origin of the "saucers" and other "craft" from other "planets":

- We do not fully understand the mysteries of our solar system.

"Astronautics, when it can be put into practice, may perhaps allow us to explore them, but we already know that beings similar to us cannot exist on the currently known planets.

"If there are any, they can only be profoundly different from us. So it is absurd to speak of 'Martians' capable of human-like activity.

"If these are terrestrial craft for military use, the time will come when the secret will be revealed, because no technical secret can be preserved indefinitely."

A Martian without ears...

In Livry-sur-Seine, two female farmers walking in the woods saw "a strange being the size of a man, lacking ears but whose body was covered in thick brown hair." He gestured for them to approach, but panicked, they took a two-kilometer detour to avoid him. When their husbands returned armed with rifles, the "Martian" had vanished.

Above the Alps, however, several "saucers" reported on Saturday evening and yesterday morning turned out to be just a single weather balloon slowly drifting westward.
