FLYING SAUCERS... (to be continued)

Once again, flying saucers have graced various regions of France with their presence: in Metz, Saint-Malo, and Issoire, mysterious craft were sighted.

In Metz, Mr. Hellers claimed to have seen a luminous oblong-shaped object crossing the sky at a dizzying speed. The object, orange in color and the size of a hen’s egg, glided silently through space, leaving behind an incandescent trail.

This testimony was confirmed by a sentry from the air police stationed on the heights of Plappeville.

In Ille-et-Vilaine, in Paramé, a plasterer reported seeing two luminous discs rising and descending in the sky at an extraordinary speed. A third luminous disc seemed to follow a line parallel to the horizon, at a much slower pace. As they moved away, the discs left behind tails similar to those of comets.

The staff of the Issoire-le-Broc airfield and Chief Pilot Hebaut, who was in flight, observed a bright circular object that hovered for nearly two hours at very high altitude.

A farmer mistaken for a Martian: his cousin shoots at him twice

LILLE. -- Mr. Maurice Ruant, a farmer in Sinceny, near Chauny (Aisne), nearly became a victim of the panic caused in some by the appearance of saucers or other flying objects. He was fixing his car when two shotgun blasts were fired in his direction. Mr. Maurice Ruant filed a complaint, and the investigation led to the shooter: Mr. Faisan, a neighbor of Mr. Ruant.

Mr. Faisan told the police:

“Seeing a silhouette moving in the light of two headlights, I thought I was in the presence of a Martian repairing his flying saucer. So I grabbed my shotgun and fired.”

Despite his good faith, Mr. Faisan will be prosecuted.

Four (Martian) steps through the... Italian clouds

ROME, October 17. -- Several sightings of “cigars and flying saucers” were reported throughout Saturday in various parts of the Italian sky.

Near Varese (Milan), several motorists saw a "disc," blue in color, standing out clearly against the starry sky. After remaining stationary for a few minutes, it resumed its dizzying course northward, disappearing with a “characteristic” humming sound. Later that night, the strange "luminous object" appeared again in the same area of the sky.

From Turin, it was reported that several workers at a facility in the Mirafiori industrial zone saw a “luminous object,” cigar-shaped, in the evening sky. The “cigar” remained motionless for an hour, during which, according to witnesses, it changed shape and brightness from time to time. The craft then disappeared, heading vertically toward France.
