ALSACAT:

ALSACAT is my comprehensive catalog of UFO sighting reports in Alsace, the region is the North-East of France, whether they are "explained" or "unexplained".

The ALSACAT catalog is made of case files with a case number, summary, quantitative information (date, location, number of witnesses...), classifications, all sources mentioning the case with their references, a discussion of the case in order to evaluate its causes, and a history of the changes made to the file. A general index and thematic sub-catalogs give access to these Alsatian case files.

Case of Strasbourg, in March 2010:

Case number:

ALSACAT-2010-03-00-STRASBOURG-1

Summary:

On March 10, 2010, the Alsatian website "Made in Elsass" headlined on "unexplained phenomena in the sky of Alsace" and proposed "Exclusive Photos" on "recent events" that led them to "change the traditional content your magazine."

The website explains that just as they were publishing, they received "unique pictures" and that in the "recent weeks, strange things seem to happen in the sky of Alsace. Lights, light trails, flying objects? Enough anyway to make us the first to talk about it."

Calling readers to send their pictures, claiming they will investigate, they then talk about Carl Sagan, messages to aliens on the Pioneer space probe, and give zero information on the so-called "unique picture" they publish - visible in this file below.

Unexplained phenomena in the sky of Alsace: Exclusive Photos

March 10, 2010

Recent events lead us to change the traditional content of your magazine. Just when we were publishing, unique photos were just transmitted to us. Indeed, in recent weeks, strange things seem to happen in the sky of Alsace. Lights, light trails, flying objects? Enough at least to make us the first to speak about it.

UFO *!

The word is out. Behind it, a whole imaginary that makes the skeptics laugh and amaze the curious. We will investigate and inform you in each of our issues!

Are we really alone in the universe?

Beyond the subject, let us remember that it was actually scientists who launched the first messages to aliens: an aluminum plate with a message of peace from President Nixon was left on the Moon and the famous sketch by Carl Sagan on the Pioneer X space probe, launched in April 1972.

Are we really alone in the universe? The photos above raise questions. And what if the truth was here?

Call: You are witnesses of such phenomena. Take pictures! Send them to info@madeinalsace and join the "Zone 67" group on Facebook

*UFO: unidentified flying object (UFO in English, Unidentified Flying Object)

Some information can be obtained from the image:

It was shot from the building at the corner of Place Kléber in Strasbourg on the opposite corner of the direction of the cathedral:

Photo.

What looks like a trail is "in front" of the cathedral Strasbourg.

For the rest ...

A daytime UFO, above Strasbourg, with a city and square full of tourists, and not one single observation narrative, just a picture, with absolutely no information from the website "Made in Elsass" about a sighting?

An edited, tilted image in low resolution...

A possible explanation is a simple reflection on a window behind which the photographer took the image of the cathedral, seeing nothing then.

Evaluation:

Probable reflection on window.
