[Ref. js1:] JEAN SIDER:

The author indicates that between October 8th and 12th, 1954, at an unknown hour in Blanzay in the Vienne, a lady of the commune wishing to remain anonymous saw when going to Civray, at the place "La Combe D'Airoux", a flying saucer posed in a field beside the road.

Near this weird machine stood a small man as wide as high with enormous and luminous eyes.

Jean Sider indicates that the source is Le Journal de Civray, Civray, the Vienne, for October 14, 1954, page 6.

He comments that the succinct narrative leaves us wondering.

[Ref. lc1:] LUC CHASTAN:

Subject: Observation of Blanzay (86-Vienne) between the 8 and 12 Oct. 1954

I saw on your website, about the observation of Blanzay (86-Vienne) between 8 and 12 October 1954, that you had not identified a place called "Combe d'Arroux" or a similar name.

On the IGN map of Blanzay (by Géoportail, for example), I found the name "Combedéroux" along the D7 linking Blanzay to Civray. I think this is this place.

Hoping to have informed you properly,

Best regards,
[Firstname Name]

Not looked for yet.

The logical route from Blanzay to Civray is by the departmental road 7, on about 6 kilometers. It is a road in the open countryside virtually devoid of dwellings, the road is bordered of hedges and fields. There is a quarry on the left. I could not identify, in 2017, a locality Combe d'Arroux or some approaching name.

My reader [le1] specified the place.

(These keywords are only to help queries and are not implying anything.)

Blanzay, Vienne, Civray, Civray-les-Essarts, La Combe D'Airoux, anonymous, single, landing, saucer, field, occupant, bulky, luminous eyes, huge eyes

[---] indicates sources which I have not yet checked.
