The 1954 French flap:

The index page for the 1954 French flap section of this website is here.

October 19, 1954, Moulins, Allier:

Reference number for this case: 19-Oct-54-Moulins. Thank you for including this reference number in any correspondence with me regarding this case.

According to a ufology catalog of 1973, the newspaper La Montagne for October 20, 1954, reported this observation made on October 19, 1954, between Moulins and Nevers:

One Mr. Peyret, a hairdresser from Clermont-Ferrand, stopped with his friends to observe "a brilliant mass that, at first immobile, moves up and down and from right to left."

October 19 (La Montagne for 10/20) between Moulins and Nevers.

Mr. Peyret, hairdresser from Clermont, stops with his friends to observe a brilliant mass which, first immobile, moves up and down and from right to left.

Since there is no hour, no direction, no other relevant data, it will not be possible to eliminate the possibility of an astronomical misinterpretation, for example.

(These keywords are only to help queries and are not implying anything.)

Moulins, Allier, Peyret, hairdresser, brilliant, multiple, moves, motionless
