The local newspaper Les Tablettes de Péronne for October 23, 1954, reported that on Monday - therefore on October 18, 1954 - residents of a central district of the city were awaken at about midnight by snapping sounds accompanied by strange lights.

According to the newspaper, the residents then thought that a flying saucer may have landed nearby, and they rushed, very little reassured, to their window.

Information taken, it was simply an electric cable that was burning in front of the Corto pharmacy. A Mr. Asini quickly repaired the damages.
