In the 1960s, Jacques Vallée indicated that on August 11, 1954, there had already been four observations, including one at Contrexéville.

But it is quite likely that it was the meteor seen widely August 8, 1954, in this region, often reported in the Peess on August 11, 1954.

It is possible that the date given by Vallée in [jve1] and by [uda1] is false and that this observation is that of the meteor on August 8, 1954, in Contrexéville.
