'Orange Balloon' Hits High Speed Over Gallup Area

Mr. and Mrs. Henri Brock, of Gamerco, reported having seen things in the sky which they were unable to explain. The "flying saucer" in this case they described as an "orange-red balloon."

In a letter to the Gallup Independent, Mr. and Mrs. Brock reported:

"On the evening of July 3rd, near 7:00 o'clock, as we sat on out back porch, we noticed what, we thought, was an orange-red balloon coming up the valley from the direction of Gallup, traveling at rapid speed - at about the same speed as planes that pass, going north in the morning - and at about the same elevation. It was not a disc, but was slightly elliptical - a bit taller than wide. It mad no sound. It traveled, seemingly, in a straight line, not wavering, as if it was propelled, and was soon lost to sight in the clouds."
