Hello,

My name is [Firstname] (aged 25). On Friday June 01 2005 while walking the dog with my girlfriend (aged 19) we observed an unusual phenomenon in the sky. We live in a very small village in the Hérault (34), in the middle of the Cévennes. An old mining village igh around 600m altitude, between the numerous mounds which surrounds us forming a sort of canyon which offers for sure a limited sky vision but clear and away from any surrounding luminous pollution. Arrived at the bottom of the village I observe the sky as usually and I see several planes (flashing of airlines to be precise) very identifiable. While following with the eyes the sumit of the mountain I see a much larger luminous phenomenon. You would have said it was like 3 blurry luminous balls, grouped together, forming a triangle. The two at the back were yellowish and the first rather orangeish. So I thought at some atmospheric re-entry but this object seemed too low for this, was moving very slowly, much slower than an airplane (of an airliner, I could compare by movin my head a little bit away) and was going to disappear behind the mountain, We went back as much as possible to the height of the village without loosing it from sight and we saw it get away slowly until we lost it behind the trees at the sumits. It seemed to hover slowly, without any change of direction or speed, not even trembling or anything else. That night, the sky was totally clear, no wind, temperature of approximately 18-20°C. No noise was heard, not even from the "true" airplanes. It moved in a south-western direction.

Greeting,

[Initials]
