The 1954 French flap in the Press:

The article below was published in the daily newspaper Nord-Matin, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France, page 8, on August 27, 1954.

NEVERS. -- Near Saint-Hylaire-en-Morvan, a farmer, Mr. Julien Doussot, leaving his home, saw in the sky a kind of incandescent flame. It spread a very white and bright glow. The craft which was moving, without any noise, in the direction of Châtel-Guyon, disappeared between two mountains.

Mr. Doussot claims to have had all leisure to observe the craft which was preceded, not followed, by a blinding gleam. It was a sort of rectangle, reddish brown, with a fin on each side.

At the back of the rectangle, Mr. Doussot clearly distinguished from 20 to 30 tubes terminated by globes or lamps lighting up alternately.

Mr. Doussot is convinced that it is indeed a flying saucer.
