BALMORAL (Victoria, Australia), April 7, 1967: letter from Mrs. Jean-l. Perry to Editor:
"Sir, some time ago you were interested in lights in the sky, so I thought you would like to know what happened on Friday night last. My son Kenneth (nineteen), his friends Bob Keiler (thirty) and Trevor Bloomfield (twenty), all of Balmoral, were playing with their torches on the Alex Mac Lennan field, between 8 and 8.30 p.m. A light in the sky was clearly visible; they had seen it on the previous four evenings as they were walking around playing with their flashlights. Kenneth then said he would send it a Morse code signal (I may add that he knows absolutely nothing about Morse code), and he began to fool around with his flashlight."
"To their horror, this light came straight towards them at a terrifying speed. At about 200 yards it came straight to the ground. As it approached it raised a large cloud of dust, but they heard no noise of any kind. All described the luminous object as six to eight feet; it was perhaps much larger, had a large red light on top and a smaller flashing light above the red light. They confessed to me that the object remained there for fifteen seconds and then returned to the place from which it had come at a terrifying speed. They told me of the strange sensation they felt at that moment: "As if your back had gone cold and as if someone was squeezing your head."
"I never knew Kenneth so afraid of anyone or anything..."
