LOS ALAMOS (New Mexico).
Several officials at the Los Alamos atomic center said yesterday that they had seen "flying saucers" hovering at about 2,000 meters above the facility.
This fact poses to the U.S. authorities a difficult problem to solve. The military has maintained until now that such craft only existed in the imagination of those who believed they saw them, and has refused to send fighter planes in pursuit of them. However, the security of the United States seems difficult to reconcile with the presence, even supposed, of unidentified craft over a region of considerable military interest.
