On his way to work, Mr. Raymond Géraud, from Périgueux, an employee of the S.N.C.F., saw a red mass above a house that was gradually rising into the sky. Quite intrigued, he called out to a cyclist, who also noticed the phenomenon.
According to them, this "flying saucer" had the shape of a cut ring, red in color and approximately the size of an enormous airplane. It was surrounded by a pink halo, six or seven times larger than the ring.
According to these observers, the mysterious craft was flying at an altitude of 400 meters and was moving at the speed of a fast airplane.
