San Francisco, 6. -- The pilot of a commercial airliner who was flying last night at about 1,500 meters above sea level on the San Fernando-Van Nuys air line, near Los Angeles, declared that he suddenly saw, passing below him, an extraordinary machine lit up by eight brilliant lights and which was flying, he said, at a terrifying speed. His immediate reflex was to gain altitude to avoid a collision. No official explanation could be given for this new manifestation of the flying saucers.
