UFOs in the daily Press:

Flying saucer or balloon over Mexico City, 1950:

The article below was published in the daily newspaper La Bourgogne Républicaine, France, on March 14, 1950.

A flying saucer flies over Mexico City for two hours

Mexico City, 13. -- Reported for about ten days above various localities, it was seen in the sky of the capital. The object was clearly observed for more than 2 hours by the employees of the aerodrome, the passengers who were waiting, and was followed with binoculars by the officers of the Air Staff who located it at an altitude of about 13,000 meters. The meteorological specialists dismiss the hypothesis of the planet Venus currently visible in broad daylight in Mexico. It is not a weather balloon because the diameter does not exceed five meters while the flying saucer would be 30 meters. The craft seems to be covered in aluminum or another polished metal that shone brightly in the sun. According to the observers, whose good faith cannot be doubted, it is indeed a new device controlled by an intelligent force.
