Lille, October 17. -- Mr. MAURICE RUANT, a farmer in Sinceny, near Chauny (Aisne), nearly became a victim of the "saucer" psychosis.
He was busy repairing his car in a field near his home when two shotgun blasts were fired in his direction.
The bullets struck the body of the vehicle, not far from his head.
Mr. Ruant filed a complaint, and the investigation opened immediately led to the quick identification of the shooter: a neighbor, Mr. Faisan, who had believed, "upon seeing a silhouette moving in the headlights, that he was witnessing a Martian repairing his flying saucer."
Mr. Faisan will be prosecuted despite his good faith.
