A flying saucer follows a British plane

LONDON, July 1st ("France-soir" dispatch).

The captain of a B.O.A.C. Stratocruiser, James Howard (285 Atlantic crossings), claims to have encountered, during his last flight which took place yesterday, a flying saucer of a type never seen before. This saucer consisted of an immense central body with a changing shape, surrounded by six other objects of infinitely smaller size and unchanging shape.

The 10 crew members and 51 passengers of the plane corroborated this account. Aeronautical experts were trying last night, both in New York and London, to study these testimonies.

This strange encounter occurred 150 miles southeast of Goose Bay (Labrador), while the Stratocruiser was flying at 6,500 meters altitude.

"I was able to observe these objects for 18 minutes," Captain Howard declared yesterday in London. "They followed my plane and at times were no more than 5 miles away. They quickly fled when an American Sabre from a nearby base attempted to approach them."
