A flying saucer (?) near Château-Chinon

CHATEAU-CHINON, August 26 (A.F.P.). Mr. Jules Doussot, a farmer in Saint-Hilaire-en-Morvan (Nièvre), reported seeing in the sky a sort of glowing globe that moved silently in the direction of Château-Chinon.

According to Mr. Doussot, the globe was preceded - rather than followed - by a blinding light, was reddish-brown in color, and featured two fins and 20 to 30 tubes.

Skepticism from French Scientists

An American magazine recently published an article claiming that the Moon has two new satellites and that meteors are orbiting the Earth at distances of 450 and 1,000 kilometers. This new cosmic phenomenon was reportedly discovered by Dr. Lincoln La Paz, director of extraterrestrial bodies research at the University of New Mexico.

French scientists remain highly skeptical and assert that even if such meteors existed, they would have extremely low mass and be practically invisible. If they were real, they would surely have been observed from other vantage points.

The Meudon Observatory, which is particularly well-equipped with precision instruments, as well as astronomers in Copenhagen, have already stated their inability to detect such objects. Scientists emphasize the importance of continuing to observe interplanetary bodies near these globes.
