The evening before last, at 7:40 p.m., Michèle Morgan returned home, near Les Invalides, completely distraught, her big eyes wide open in shock.
She had just witnessed an extraordinary spectacle, which she described as follows:
"- I saw, over the esplanade, high in the sky, two luminous globes, one of which—larger—looked like a big star. And I'm sure it wasn't the lights from the Eiffel Tower, nor from a plane, because I saw it suddenly rise vertically."
"An elderly gentleman who was nearby and had also noticed the phenomenon ran away like a young champion."
"When I got home, I immediately called my husband to tell him about my extraordinary experience. He listened to me with skepticism. Nevertheless, I'm sure I wasn't the victim of a hallucination."
Although she once played Joan of Arc, Michèle Morgan doesn't want anyone to say she's been having visions.
