BAYONNE, September 24. -- Residents of Bayonne claim to have seen this afternoon, very high in the sky to the northeast, three mysterious objects of a light color, standing out clearly against the pure sky at that hour.
A police officer, Mr. Corrions, who was in the Halles district, observed the three motionless craft arranged in a triangle formation, slightly oval in shape. He said they were about the size of a rugby ball and appeared to be at a considerable altitude.
Other passersby reported seeing the same luminous objects from various locations.
NANCY, September 24. -- Several dozen workers from "Sidelor", living in the region of La Fontaine-les-Baroches [sic] (Meurthe-et-Moselle), claim to have seen six flying cigars in the sky between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m.
"At first, we saw two 'cigars'," they said. "Then four more craft came to join the first two. All of them remained perfectly still for a moment before suddenly vanishing." These statements were confirmed by several other witnesses.
LE PUY, September 24. -- Mrs. Chaumard, who lives in the Girette district of Le Puy, saw an object in the sky shaped like a cigar, glowing red at one end, silent and seemingly stationary. She was able to observe the object for nearly a quarter of an hour before it suddenly disappeared while gaining altitude.
