February, 1997 - New Revelations on Varginha Case as aired on Brazilian TV.
The text below is the full transcription of a 10-minute story aired on Brazilian TV (Manchete Network), in the program "Misterio", in the night of February 5th, 1997. Translation by P.H. Andrade.

"Do you believe in extraterrestrials? Well, even who doesn't, must have heard already about the Case of Varginha, a city from Minas Gerais [State] that would has been visited by beings from other planet. Now, "Misterio" brings some news on the subject".
[Film shows the streets of Varginha]
Reporter's voice - "Varginha, Southern Minas Gerais. Here, it has happened one of the most mysterious and intriguing ufological cases of the world, according to the UFO researchers. Everything started in a Saturday afternoon, on the day January 20th, 1996."
[film continues, showing the girls at the EBE's sighting place]
Reporter - "The sisters Valquiria and Liliane, and their friend Katia, were returning home from work, and had decided to take a short cut crossing this place, in the Jardim Andere district, when suddenly their attention was called to a strange creature, that was trying to hide itself there. Scared, they started to run."
[Interview with Valquiria and Liliane da Silva]
Valquiria: - " It was brown, it had red eyes, the skin was bright, like... - it seems an oil, and had three horns."
Liliane: - " I've got the feeling that he was, hmm..., a little scared, it seems that our climate was harming him. Like..., you know when a person looks to you and transmits through his look, agony, sadness? Like if it was [saying]: "I'm suffering.""

Reporter - " The next day, the lawyer and ufologist Ubirajara Rodrigues got knowledge of the story of the three youngsters that had seen "a little monster", and decided to investigate the strange apparition. Meanwhile, new rumours have circulated through the city. The firemen would have caught a being of an unknown shape that would has been brought, firstly to the Regional Hospital and, in the next day, to the Humanitas Hospital. The Fire Department, and the direction of both hospitals, have denied such occurrences..."

Reporter - " Four months after the happening, the housewife Terezinha Clepf, 67 years old, would has seen another creature with the same characteristics during a party at the Varginha Zoo."
Mrs. Terezinha Clepf: - " It was on April 21 st [1.996], I was in a birthday party, and I came to the verandah to smoke, and I felt that someone was looking at me. When I turned myself, by my left, I stumbled on a creature that I didn't know what it was, if it was an animal... , or whatever it was... , it was very ugly. It was brown, it had a brightness on the skin, the eyes big and red, and the mouth torn, just a stroke on the mouth."
" And it stayed looking at me, and I didn't manage to get out of there, because it seems I was stuck on the floor."

Reporter - " Starting from this testimony, and from others that have came later, the ufologists who investigate the case have concluded that there could exist other creatures in the region."
"It was in the same Zoo where Mrs. Terezinha sighted that being, that five animals have died of unknown causes."
[Interview with Dr. Leila Cabral, the Zoo's biologist]
Dr. Leila Cabral: - " The strangest is that the viscera have been analyzed, I have a technical official report, and nothing has been confirmed, NO BACTERIA, nothing. In one [of the animals], in one of the viscera, there has been confirmed [the presence of] unidentified toxic substance."

Reporter -: " But a link was missing to connect all these isolated facts. AND THE GREAT NEWNESS CAME OUT NOW, when the Varginha's ET Case completed one year."
" The entrepreneur and ultralight pilot, Carlos de Souza, affirmed he has witnessed an accident with a craft that could has brought the alien or the aliens to Varginha."

Carlos de Souza -: " What I saw in the sky was a brilliant thing, it seemed a little cigar, you know, just a bit wider, high. And there it came, must has stumbled, hit, on something, and it started to fall. Then, I started to... - and have continued following it, about 20 kilometers ahead from here, I started to search, then I turned right, to reach the place. But I arrived there and, as I've told you, THERE WERE ALREADY SOME SOLDIERS THERE, THEY BLOCKED OFF MY PASSAGE, AND LITERALLY FORCED ME TO RETURN."
" I found very strange that THERE WERE IN THE PLACE TWO MERCEDES TRUCKS FROM THE ARMY, A LOT OF SOLDIERS - APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 40 PEOPLE - COMBING THE WOODS, AS IF THEY WERE SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING, COMBING THE AREA. Apart from this, THE FOLKS WERE PICKING PIECES, YOU SEE THAT OVER THE TRUCKS, THERE WERE SEVERAL PIECES OF THIS MATERIAL WHICH I PICKED UP IN MY HANDS AND KNEADED, AND IT TURNED BACK TO NORMAL".
" THERE WAS A HELICOPTER FROM THE ARMY, VERY LARGE, a helicopter - not these little helicopters - it was a very large helicopter, which [usually] carries the injured, these things. And one thing that called also my attention very much was an AMMONIA SMELL THAT WAS INSIDE... , THERE WAS AN AMBULANCE THERE."

Claudeir Covo: - " What Carlos tells us is, in many aspects... , corroborates the information we've already had before, long before his testimony, and that we hadn't revealed yet to the public."
" We hope that, after divulging this to the public, as it has been made, that other people who have also witnessed [the facts], come to the public also, and tell us the details, confirming the testimony of Carlos de Souza."

Reporter -: " The testimony of the entrepreneur coincides with the one of this couple of farmers who lives 10 km long from Varginha. They say they have sighted a flying object, apparently damaged, with the same characteristics cited by the pilot."
Manchete TV -: "How was this object?" .
Oralina Freitas -: "It was grey".
Manchete TV -: "Oh. What was its shape?" .
Oralina -: "Ah, like a submarine, very smoky, and it flew over the pasture, you see, and the cats ran around to attack, and I started to look and him too." .
Eurico Freitas -: "It was like this, you know, look [showing the drawing of a submarine-like ship]. We didn't observe it clearly because of the smoke here, a very light smoke, isn't it? It was like this, actually."
Manchete TV -: "And it was... , the ship was also light?" .
Eurico -: "It was light."

Reporter -: " The controversy comes out concerning the sighting dates."
Marco Antonio Petit -: " The couple really alleges having sighted a ship, apparently with problems, at daybreak of January, 20th [1.996], that is to say, a few hours before the girls sighted the creature. Regarding the new witness, he observed even the crash of this object. Therefore, maybe we have to think seriously about the possibility of an involvement of two objects with the same shape, in different dates.".

Pacaccini -: " The four elements of the Fire Department that entered the woods that separate the district of Jardim Andere of the Santana district are:

Maria Antonia Tavares -: " HE SAID HE WAS IN AN IMPORTANT MISSION, THAT LATER ON THIS WILL COME OUT TO THE PUBLIC."

Ubirajara Rodrigues -: " This Marco Eli Cheresi (see photo) died rapidly with 23 years old, and we already know he was a strong, athletic, fearless policeman (P-2), one who executes his missions, [and that] after 13 days of feeling some ache, which rapidly became worse and worse in the following days, until he eventually passed away on February, 15 th [N. from T.: 1996, NOT 1997]. THERE IS A POLICE INQUIRY IN PROGRESS IN THE VARGINHA'S POLICE STATION, WHERE THE FACTS ARE BEING CLEARED UP AT THE REQUEST OF THE FAMILY, AND THE MOST INTERESTING IS THAT UNTIL RECENT TIME, MORE PRECISELY UNTIL LAST JANUARY, 17 TH [1997], THE NECROPSY LEGAL DOCUMENT ON THE POLICEMAN'S CORPSE ANALYSES WASN'T AVAILABLE IN THE LAWSUIT YET, DESPITE THE INSISTENCES OF THE POLICE'S LOCAL CHIEF."

WHY THE CTI's PHYSICIAN [Note from T.: CTI = Centro de Tratamento Intensivo, or Intensive Treatment Center, in the hospital] SAID, ON THE DAY MY BROTHER DIED: "LOOK, IF I WERE YOU, I'D MAKE THE BURIAL TODAY, AT MOST UNTIL 3 P.M.". WHY? IF HE HAD DIED OF A RESPIRATORY INSUFFICIENCY, OF A PNEUMONIA, AS WAS ALLEGED BY THE PHYSICIAN, WHY WE'D HAVE TO BURY HIM ON THE VERY SAME DAY?"
